The Brevet de Randonneurs Mondiaux or BRM is a cyclotourism ride whose success is validated by the Audax Club parisien.

Distances range from 200 to 1,000 km with a time limit for each distance:
200 km: 13 hours 30
300 km: 20 hours
400 km: 27 hours
600 km: 40 hours
1,000 km: 75 hours

The brevets are done without a stopwatch or ranking, and unlike cycling rallies, there is no supply or signposting; the cyclist must be self-sufficient.

Randonneur 5.000The series of brevets from 200 to 600 km (The Super Randonneur brevets) completed in the same year (i.e., 1,500 km) allows you to earn the distinction of Super Randonneur. Beyond that, by adding Paris-Brest-Paris, a Flèche Vélocio, a 1,000 km brevet, and 5,000 km of brevets, we have the Randonneur 5.000 distinction.

The series of Super Randonneur brevets is qualifying for Paris-Brest-Paris Randonneur, in the year of its organization.
The year before PBP, brevets allow for priority registration for the event. That is to say, registrations will first be opened to those who have completed a 1,000 km BRM, then to those who have completed a 600 km and so on. For the 20th edition of Paris Brest Paris, in 2023, priority registration is being implemented as in previous years. The number of participants has been increased to 8,000, including 2,500 French randonneurs, figures that are well above the demand for participation in 2019.

BRMs are organized all over the planet. This allows all randonneurs from the world to participate every four years in Paris-Brest-Paris.

The position of the foot on the pedal

Having an ideal position on a bike requires several things. Some are static, such as saddle height and crank length, while others are dynamic, such as the position of the foot on the pedal, particularly during pedaling.
