Created by the Audax-Club Parisien, the Randonneur 5000 distinction rewards riders who have covered a minimum of 5,000 km of ACP rides between two editions of PBP
Four years is the duration that must separate the first brevet from the last brevet. That's the time condition.
As for the event condition, the rider must complete the following rides obligatorily
Note that the series of BRMs from 200 to 600 km alone qualifies for the Randonneur 1,000 distinction, and since PBP requires that this series be completed in the year of qualification for PBP, a large part of the challenge will be achieved automatically by completing the Super Randonneur brevets.
Afterwards, the remaining distance to reach 5,000 km must be covered with events such as Flèche de France, Brevets de Randonneurs Mondiaux, Flèche Vélocio, Traces Vélocio, Randonneurs Mondiaux of 1200 km and more.

How to apply
As this distinction is awarded by the Audax Club Parisien, you just need to go to the ACP website and look for the Organization section, then Randonneur 5.000. The application consists of reading the Randonneur 5 000 regulations and downloading the Word document / form. You will need to fill in the dates of the different brevets with their approval number and the total distance covered, which must exceed 5,000 km. This document will be sent by mail or electronically to the ACP contact person indicated in the regulations on the website. In October of the PBP year, the applications are processed, and in January of the following year, the medals and diplomas are sent out.
5,000 km of randonnées in four years is a significant achievement that this distinction rewards.
Can you apply again?
Yes, of course. With one PBP per Randonneur 5.000 series, it is possible to obtain this distinction every four years. You just need to apply again after completing the brevets.
