A bike hike such as Paris-Brest-Paris and its qualifying brevets require quality lighting. This means lighting that can last for several nights, provide a wide or narrow beam as needed, be sturdy in the face of bad weather, and also be lightweight.

As for the lighting performance, and after testing it for one night, we can say that the Led Lenser T7 can be used in two ways for cycling:
Riding solo or leading a group: the narrow beam allows you to see far ahead, whether in economical mode or not, depending on the technicality of the road or your need for lighting comfort.
Riding in a group, the wide beam in economical mode is very well adapted, as it allows you to light up the wheel of the rider in front of you. The full lighting mode, on the other hand, reflects too much light, while the narrow beam does not light up the road enough in front of the bike, making it difficult to maintain distance.
Switching from a wide beam to a narrow beam is done by sliding the head of the lamp back and forth, but it is important to have easy access to this part of the lamp, which is not always considered when mounting the bag or installing the lamp on the fork.
